Bachelor of Arts, Yale, 1870. Honorary Doctor of Letters, Franklin and Marshall College, 1917. Admitted to bar, 1872.

Career

Practiced in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, until 1875. In office of auditor-general of Pennsylvania, 1875-1881, since then in practice at Harrisburg.
