Instructor in Friends’ School, Providence, Rhode Island, 1882-1887. Professor modern languages, University of the South, 1891-1899. On editorial staff of The Churchman, New York, 1899-1912.

Modern French Literature, 1897. A Century of French Fiction.

Company-editor of Colonial Prose and Poetry, 1902, and editor of about 20 school texts in French and German. Contributor many articles in reviews and journals on literature and economic subjects, and has collaborated in the New International Encyclopedia and Encyclopedia Americana.
