Nassho Benjiro was born in 1865 in Tokyo, Japan.
He graduated from the Ongaku Torishirabe-sho (Music Research Institute), predecessor of the Tokyo School of Music.
He was appointed professor at the institution (Music Research Institute) and then at the Peeress’ School.
He composed many songs for primary school children, including the classic Usagi-to-Kame (Hare And Tor¬toise) and Momotaro (Peach Boy).
