He played college football for Michigan State. In 2011, he played in only five games due to a foot injury and caught two passes for 20 yards. In 2012, as a junior he recorded 41 receptions for 524 yards and four touchdowns.
As senior in 2013, he caught 36 passes for 622 yards and six touchdowns, he also returned 15 kickoffs for 336 yards.
In his college career he recorded 93 receptions for 1,341 yards and 11 touchdowns as well as 16 carries for 102 yards. At Michigan State he majored in economics.
Denver Broncos
On May 10, 2014, Fowler was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos. On August 30, 2014, he was waived.
On August 31, 2014, he was signed to the practice squad.
On January 12, 2015, he was signed a future contract. Fowler played in all 16 regular season games for the Broncos, ending the 2015 season with 16 receptions for 203 yards. In the Super Bowl he caught a 2-point conversion to make it a 14-point game, also making Fowler the recipient of Peyton Manning"s final pass as an NFL quarterback.
