Educated Colegio de San Antonio, Montevideo. Studied drawing in the Círculo de Bellas Artes. In 1906 entered, as an apprentice, the studio of the sculptor Félix Morelli.
Studied in Europe in 1913, 1916, and 1929, living for some years in Paris.
Professor, and president, Escuela Taller de Artes Plásticos. President, 1st continental anti-war congress, Montevideo. Has held exhibitions in Montevideo, Paris, and in Argentina.
Awards: scholarship for 2 years’ study in Europe in national competition, 1929. Grand prize, national centenary exposition, 1930. Grand prize, Paris International Exposition, 1937.
