Career
According to Houbraken he travelled to Rome and joined the Bentvueghels with the nickname "Hemel" (Heaven). According to the RKD he was the oldest son of Pieter de Bailliu and Elisabeth van Engelen. He was the brother of the engravers Pieter II (or Peeter-Frans), and January Baptist.
He worked in Rome.
