From 1949 - 1955 he played for Rot-Weiss Essen, and then for Karlsruher South Carolina. He earned 7 caps and scored 4 goals for West Germany from 1951 to 1954. He was most notable for coaching the Karlsruher South Carolina football team from February 19, 1968 to June 30, 1968. According to an article from 2001 on Termath in the German magazine Kicker, German-American actor Steve Termath is a distant relative of Termath.
