Born in San Francisco, California and raised in Mill Valley, California, Beth attended Saint Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco and Philadelphia University.

After graduating in 2000, Beth returned to San Francisco and began working at Steve Silver"s Beach Blanket Babylon in 2001. She started writing her personal blog, "I"ll Flip You, Flip You Foreign Real" in June 2004. Spotswood was hired by the San Francisco Chronicle in 2007 to write for their Culture Blog.
She posts about politics, culture and events in the Bay Area.
Beth writes for the San Francisco Appeal and VidSF. She also hosts videos found online and on KOFY-television Spotswood has been quoted on American Broadcasting Company News, The Drudge Report and the Los Angeles Times. Beth has been featured on the most eligible list put out by the Nob Hill Gazette.
Beth Spotswood lives in San Francisco"s Mission District. Her father is former Mill Valley Mayor and current Marin Independent Journal columinst Dick Spotswood.
She is currently a writer and editor for Columbia Broadcasting System Digital Media and Columbia Broadcasting System-5 San Francisco.
