Career
He reports weekdays for National Broadcasting Company"s Early Today, Microsoft and National Broadcasting Company"s First Look, Way Too Early, Morning Joe, Microsoft and National Broadcasting Company Live, Consumer News and Business Channel and The Weather Channel. Prior to being named National Broadcasting Company Meteorologist Karins was one of the original meteorologists for the now shuttered National Broadcasting Company Weather Plus. From 2009 to 2012, Karins had been the meteorologist on Weekend Today on Saturdays.
Karins has also become one of the substitute hosts for Way Too Early since the departure of Willie Geist from the show for his Today hosting duties.
He is also a fill-in for First Rate (at Lloyd's) Roker on Today, and for Dylan Dreyer on Weekend Today. Karins was born in Albany, New New York
He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta, which is also the alma mater of Entertainment and Sports Programming Network"s Sal Paolantonio and actor Bill Pullman. Prior to working at National Broadcasting Company, he was a meteorologist at KSNT in Topeka, Kansas and at WCTI in New Bern, North Carolina.
