College of Emporia
Schnebel"s first head coaching job was at the College of Emporia in Emporia, Kansas. While head coach of the Fighting Presbies, he led his teams to a combined record of 61 wins, 21 losses, and 1 tie. They were named Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference champions three years (1959, "62, and "63), took second place in the conference twice ("56 and "61), and third place in his final 1964 season at the college.
Schnebel"s team traveled to the Mineral Water Bowl in 1959 and defeated Austin College 21-20.
In 1962 Chamber of East was ranked number 3 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics nationally and lost in the semi final game to Central Oklahoma University 20 - 0. In 1963 Chamber of East was ranked 2nd in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics nationally and lost in the semi final game to Saint John"s University 54 - 0.
Northwest Oklahoma State University
After his term at the College of Emporia, Schnebel was named the head coach of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University football team in Alva, Oklahoma.
