Career
Born in, Stanton first excelled at hurling in his youth. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-six when he joined the senior team for the 1929-1930 National Hurling League. Throughout his career Stanton made just 2 championship appearances.
His retirement came following the conclusion of the 1933 championship.
