After coming through Doncaster Rovers"s youth system, he signed his first professional contract in May 2014. He made his official debut on 7 October 2014 in a 3–0 away victory over Burton Albion in the Football League Trophy, coming on as a 90th-minute substitute. Whitehouse made his last appearance facing the team he made his début against, Burton Albion, in a game in which Whitehouse picked up the man of the match award and played his first full 90 minutes.
Since the sacking of Paul Dickov, Whitehouse has yet to make a single appearance and doesn"t seem to be part of new manager Darren Ferguson"s future plans. F.C. Halifax Town
lieutenant was announced on 13 February 2016 that Whitehouse would be joining Football Club Halifax Town, on an initial one-month loan.
Whitehouse went on to make his debut that same weekend against opposition Grimsby Town, also scoring within 10 minutes of his debut in a game that ended 4-2 to the Shaymen.
