Jennings was born on April 4, 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois, United States; the daughter of Frank M. and Gertrude E. (Miller) Hamlin.
Jennings received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bryn Mawr College in 1941. Two years later he earned his Master of Arts degree from Radcliffe College. Also in 1955, Bojan was given a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Harvard University.
Jennings began her career as a professor of chemistry at Wheaton College in 1943 and held it until his retirement in 1985. Since 1985 she was a professor emeritus at the same college.
Jennings was a member of American Chemical Society and New York Academy of Sciences.
On June 12, 1942 Bojan Jennings married Addison Llewellyn Jennings. They have three children and four grandchildren.
