Education
He graduated from the Landed Gentry Cadet Corps (1793). He was in the military service (1793-1807).
Career
Participated in the Swiss campaign of the Russian army (1799-1800), the battle under Austerlitz (1805). Private bailiff in St. Petersburg (1807-1810). Petersburg police chief (1810-1816). The Pskov governor (1816-1826). In 1824-1826 he supervised the exiled to the village of Mikhailovskoe Pskov province Alexander Pushkin. Voronezh Governor (1826-1830). In 1830 he was added to the deputies of the Gerold of the Senate. He died of cholera.
