Career
1919 stage debut with Zimin Opera Theater and Opera Studio, Bolshoy Theater. 1920-1951 soloist, Bolshoy Theater. Roles: Varlaam in Boris Godunov.
Prince Ivan Khovanskiy in Khovanshchina. Ivan the Terrible in Pskovityanka (The Woman of Pskov). Nilacantha in Lakme; the Standard-Bearer in Pototskiy’s Proryv (Break-Through).
