Studied chemical colloidal phenomena in rubber vulcanization theory. Studied the effects of vulcanization accelerators. Pioneered industry production of synthetic rubber from petroleum products: 1914-1916 devised means of obtaining divinyl by the pyrogenetic cracking of oil at a temperature of 700—800°, followed by rapid cooling of the derivates.
