He graduated from Voroshilovgrad military aviation school of pilots (1942), the Air Force Academy (1951), the Academy of the General Staff (1959).
He participated in the Great Patriotic War. The commander of the 237th assault air regiment (17th Air Army, 3rd Ukrainian Front). By March 1944, made 90 successful sorties. After World War II he continued to serve in the air force in responsible command and staff positions.
