KOLESNIKOV, Boris was born in 1909 in St. Petersburg.
1931 graduated Agriculture Faculty, Far Eastern University, now the Far Eastern Forestry Institute, Vladivostok. 1934 completed postgrad, course, Chair of Dendrology, Far Eastern Forestry Institute.
1931-1934 at Chair of Forestry, Far Eastern Forestry Institute. 1934-1935 associate and 1935-1939 senior associate, Botanical Section, Far Eastern Branch, USSR Academy of Science. 1939-1941 senior associate, Forestry Group, Northern Base, USSR Academy of Science.
Since 1941 Head, Botanical Study Group, Far Eastern Mountain Taiga Station, USSR Academy of Science. Since 1951 Head, Laboratory of Forestry, Far Eastern Branch, USSR Academy of Science. Does research on dendrology and the phytocenology of forests, with especial reference to origin, development and present-day dynamics of forests in the Far East.
