Boris was born on August 1, 1890 in Ashgabat, Transcaspian region, Russian Federation. He was born in the family of nobles.
Boris graduated from the natural department of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow University in 1914.
Before returning to Voronezh where he worked as an assistant at Voronezh Agricultural University until 1918. He was dean of the Faculty of Biology (the 1930s). He was a specialist in phylogenetic systematics and morphology of higher plants. Boris Mikhailovich developed and defended euvantovaya theory of the flower.
He was published in the "Memorable book of the Voronezh government" and "Voronezh local history collection. He is the author of over 300 works, including books: "The Origin of Higher Plants" in Voronezh in 1927, "In the Country of Living Fossils" in Moscow in 1931, "The Basic Biogenetic Law from a Botanical Point of View" in Voronezh in 1937, "Course systematics of higher plants" in Voronezh in 1965. He worked with the "Central Black Earth Region ES" in Voronezh in 1934.
