Kroyt, Boris was born on June 23, 1897 in Odessa, Russia. Son of Ossip Joseph and Cecilia (Friedman) Kroyt.

Student Royal Academy (Odessa), 1906-1908. Stern’sches Konservatorium (Berlin), 1908-1912. Studied with Alex Fiedeman, Doctor Paul Yuon, Wilhelm Klatte, Wladimir Metzl.
