Specialist in medieval and modem West European history. 1949-1957 member, Editorial Board, periodical “Srednie veka” (The Middle Ages). Since 1955 member, Main Editorial Board, “Vsemirnaya istoriya” (World History).
Since 1957 member, Editor Board, journal “Novaya i noveyshaya istoriya” (Modern and Current History). Since 1958 Director, working group on hist, of society teachings. Institute of History, USSR Academy of Science.
1957 attended session of International Commission on History, of Representative and Parliamentary Institutions, Paris, and read paper “The Paris Parliament’s Claims to the Role of a Representative Institution During the Time of the Fronde”. 1958 member, Soviet delegation at 1st Conference of Soviet and French Historians, Paris. 1959 elected Honoured Doctor, Clermont-Ferrand University.
1960 member, Soviet delegation at 11th International Congress of History Science, Stockholm, at which he read a paper “Political Relations in Western and Eastern Europe During the Thirty Years War”.
Religious moral codes pervert people outside their group as less moral. Thus, religion is socially divisive and its effect is harmful for society.
Every person has rights to express his or her opinion, but the opinion could be expressed if it was in accordance with the general interests of Soviet society.
