Vysheslavtsev, Boris was born in 1877 in Moscow. Son of a lawyer.


Graduated from Moscow University in law, 1899. Studied philosophy at Marburg University.


Professor at Moscow University, 1917. Dismissed by the communist authorities, expelled with a group of professors in 1922. Lived in Paris, lectured at the St. Sergius Theological Institute in Paris before World War II. After World War II, moved to Switzerland.

In his philosophical and sociological works, criticized the prominence of Marx and Freud in modern thought, considering them responsible for the impoverishment of cultural and spiritual life.
