After graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1950, Holleman established his legal practice in Wiggins, Mississippi and moved his family to Gulfport, Mississippi in 1967.

Holleman engaged in extensive trial practice, both civil and criminal, including many suits involving county government, in the federal and state courts.
Mr. Holleman has been a frequent lecturer at various Continuing legal education seminars throughout the country on trial practice and served on the faculty of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Ann Arbor, Michigan. for a number of years. In the 1980"s, Mr. Holleman was joined in the firm by 2 of his sons who still practice with him.
