Career

From assistant to associate professor Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, 1968—1978, interim director of library, 1978—1981, from associate professor to professor, since 1981, chair department geography and history, since 2000. Director Master of Arts program in American studies Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, since 1987. Participating scholar territory speakers program Oklahoma Humanities Council, Oklahoma City, since 1990.

Principal consultant traveling exhibition The Image and the Word. Principal history consultant 5-part miniseries Oklahoma Passages. Captain United States Army, 1961-1965.
