He graduated from WKU in 1982 and turned professional.
Career
He played college golf first at the University of Houston, then at Western Kentucky University. Fabel played on the Professional Golf Association Tour from 1985 to 1993 and 1996 to 2001. His best finish of tour was pair of T-2: at the 1990 Canon Greater Hartford Open and the 1997 Buick Open.
He also played on the Nationwide Tour from 1994 to 1995 and 2001 to 2005, winning twice: the and the.
Since retiring in 2005, Fabel has worked as a Professional Golf Association Tour rules official 1974 Kentucky State Amateur Nationwide Tour wins.
