Career
Playing Undrafted, Mashinter signed as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks on March 3, 2009. He played in his first career National Hockey League game on December 29, 2010 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota versus the Minnesota Wild. He was traded to the Rangers on January 16, 2013 in exchange for Tommy Grant and a conditional 7th round draft pick in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
On December 6, 2013, the Rangers traded Mashinter to the Chicago Blackhawks for Kyle Beach.
