Career
He is currently playing with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League (WHL) as a prospect for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (National Hockey League). Point was selected by Traktor Chelyabinsk in the 5th round (167th overall) of the 2013 KHL Junior Draft and was also drafted by the Lightning in the third round (79th overall) of the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Point was drafted by the Moose Jaw Warriors in the 1st round (14th overall) of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.
He has played with the Moose Jaw Warriors since the 2011-2012 WHL season.
His outstanding play was rewarded when he was chosen to skate in the 2014 CHL/National Hockey League Top Prospects Game. Point is rated as a top prospect who was viewed as a possible first round selection in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft, however he was not taken until the third round when the Tampa Bay Lightning drafted him 79th overall.
During the 2013-2014 season, Point set a career high in points (91) and assists (55). Point played in 204 WHL games, all with the Warriors during the past four seasons.
Point registered 99 goals and 236 points over that time and has been an early WHL scoring leader for Moose Jaw in 2015-2016.
At the end of the 2014-2015 WHL regular season the Tampa Bay Lightning announced the signing of Point to a three year entry level contract. Point is expected to join the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League for the remainder of the season. As a 16-year-old, he was named an assistant captain for fifth place Canada Pacific in the 2013 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
Brayden was also named to the Team Canada roster that captured a gold medal at the 2015 IIHF U20 World Junior Championships.
