Daly was the defensive line coach of the Saint Louis Rams from 2009 to 2011, after spending three seasons as the assistant defensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings. Daly worked with the Villanova defensive linemen in 2005. He spent the 1999 season working with the TEs.
The 1999 Wildcats went 7–4 and Talley posted his 100th victory at the school.
Daly coached tight ends at Division I-Associate of Arts Illinois State in 2004 when the Redbirds led the Gateway Conference in passing offense. His longest tenure came during a three-season stint from 2001-2003 at Oklahoma State University where he worked on both sides of the ball and in strength and conditioning with the Cowboys program
Daly"s first exposure to major Division I football came against offensive graduate assistant at Maryland in 2000 where he worked with the tight ends. Before coaching at Villanova in 1999 Daly got his first taste of collegiate coaching at his alma mater in 1998 at Drake.
His first position after graduating from Drake was in 1997 coaching and teaching at Ridgewood High in New Portuguese Richey, Florida.
Daly earned his bachelor"s degree in history from Drake and came to Des Moines from Springfield, Illinois where he attended Sacred Heart-Griffin High.
