His research specializations are fluid dynamics, mixing and turbulence, multiphase flow, and atomization and renewable energy. He ran as a candidate for provincial government in the riding of Edmonton-Whitemud in 2004 and as of 2015 is running for federal government in the riding of Edmonton Riverbend.
