Career
He captained Christian Brothers College to the Avonmore Senior Cup title in 2009. He moved from the Sub-Academy to the Rugby Academy at the start of the 2010-2011 season. Hayes made his full debut against a touring Australia side in November 2010.
His second cap for came against Newport Gwent Dragons, also in November 2010.
Hayes joined French Pro D2 side Stade ois Cantal Auvergne, better known as, for the 2013-2014 season, in an attempt to gain more gametime.
