Brian Stoddart graduated from University of Canterbury, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in 1967 and Master of Arts (with honors) on 1969. In 1974 Mr. Stoddart became a graduate of University of Western Australia with Doctor of Philosophy degree.
Mr. Stoddart worked as a senior tutor in history at University of Western Australia, Perth, between 1975 and 1976. He was a lecturer in social science at Curtin University, Perth, from 1977 till 1980. He joined the staff of University of Canberra, Canberra, Australia, where he began to work as a lecturer and soon became a senior lecturer in sports studies, 1981-1990, later Mr. Stoddart was promoted to dean of communication, 1991-1995.
Since 1995 Brian Stoddart became an academic director at ADORNA-RMIT, Jawi, Malaysia. He also acted as a media commentator and also a consultant to government and business agencies.
Brian Stoddart married Sandra Marion on July 19, 1981. They are the parents of two children: Kirsteen Margaret Ann, Laura Catherine Ann.
