Taylor has previously held positions at EBF & Associates. Brian Taylor received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting summa cum laude from Millikin University in 1986. Taylor’s career began at EBF & Associates in 1988 where he was a trader before being named head of the convertible arbitrage group in 1994, and Partner in 1997.
During his time at EBF, Taylor worked with Aaron Yeary and others, who later joined him at Pine River.
In 2002, Taylor left the company to start his global relative value hedge fund, Pine River Capital Management with a $5.3 million initial investment. The firm has grown to over $15 billion in assets under management and employs 450 people globally, with nine offices.
Taylor has helped to build a Pine River presence in mainland China that focuses on deep-dive research on China’s on-shore markets. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Pine River and Chairman of Two Harbors Investment Corporation.
Taylor also serves on the Minneapolis Institute of Arts Board of Trustees.
