Career
Shim and Howard Sutcliffe have been working collaboratively since they met at the University of Waterloo. She is a tenured professor at the University of Toronto"s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, she lectures widely, and she was the Eero Saarinen Visiting Professor at Yale University.
Achievements
She is an invested officer of The Order of Canada "for her contributions as an architect, designing structures that enrich the public realm". Her projects include Toronto Laneway House (Toronto, 1993). Integral House (Toronto, 2009), which won an American Institute of Architects Honor Award in 2012.
Weathering Steel House (Toronto, 2001).
House on the Ravine Edge (Toronto, 2011). Muskoka Boathouse (Lake Muskoka, 1999).
And Garden Pavilion and Reflecting Pool (Don Mills, 1992). Brigitte Shim has won the Governor General"s Medal in Architecture thirteen times (four times independently, and nine times as Shim-Sutcliffe Architects).
