Brownie Macintosh is a performing artist, an internationally Published songwriter, author, and playwright. His credits include The Kingston Trio, The Irish Rovers, Kim Nazarian, Atlantic Music Corp., Nova (PBS.) He has performed on stage with The Kingston Trio, Doc Watson, Jay Leno, Pure Prairie League, Loudin Wainwright III, The Late Steve Goodman, and countless others. He is an author and co-producer of the radio series American Folk Theatre. He wrote, produced, arranged, and performed commercial radio and television jingles, and public service announcements. Macintosh also wrote two educational radio programs for children. Some writings appear under the pseudonyms Greybeard the Pirate and John Young.
One half of the Team "Julie & Brownie," Brownie tours with singer/songwriter Julie Thompson as a musical act for children, spreading positive thoughts in song for children and families. Brownie is also actively writing and producing commercial radio and television jingles, as well as Corporate slide show, film, and video music. He plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, tenor guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and voice. He is also trained whiskey baritone. Macintosh authored three children’s books published which are available nationally. His first musical play "Maggie & The Magic Hat" was first produced in the summer of 1999.
