Bruce LaFontaine studied at Rochester Institute of Technology where he received an Associate of Applied Science degree in 1979. He also attended Empire State College and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1981.
Bruce LaFontaine started his career as an art director and technical illustrator at Xerox Corporation in 1976. He held this post until 1993. He also worked as a drawing instructor at Monroe County Community Education from 1996 to 1998. LaFontaine started to work as a freelance illustrator and writer in 1983. He published his first book, Our Solar System, in 1989. He wrote and illustrated fifty-nine books for both children and adults. One of his latest books was published in 2014.
Bruce LaFontaine is an American writer and illustrator who is famous for his books for children about history, science, transportation, and architecture. He wrote and illustrated fifty-nine books. His work has appeared in Scientific American, The Wall Street Journal, and other prominent publications. In 1995 he received the MVP Award, for his book Motorcycles.
