Career
Squires played in small-time ensembles in the early 1930s, then joined Ben Pollack from 1935 to 1937. Following this he worked with Jimmy Dorsey (1937-1938), Gene Krupa (1938-1939), Benny Goodman (1939), Harry James (1939-1940), Freddie Slack (1940-1941), and Bob Crosby (1942). He did extensive work as a studio musician after World World War II, and was an active performer into the 1970s.
