Career
Previously he served as an assistant coach for Iowa Energy of the National Basketball Association Development League. Wilson was the head coach for Simpson College from 1985-2010. Wilson left the college with a record of 341-305 in his 25 years at the helm.
Wilson was hired as the assistant coach for Iowa Energy in 2010.
During the 2013-2014 season he served as the interim head coach. Bruce Wilson graduated Simpson College in 1976.
He was a student athlete at the college. In addition to his responsibilities as the head coach, Wilson served as a faculty member in the department of Sports Science and Health Education.
Wilson and his family are also actively involved in the Special Olympics.
On August 25, 2015 he was named as the Regional Director for the West Region of Special Olympics Iowa.
