Lucchesi, Bruno was born on July 31, 1926 in Lucca, Toscana, Italy. Came to the United States, 1958. Son of Giovanni and Natalina (Magnani) Lucchesi.
He studied at the Art Institute of Lucca, then moved to Florence, Italy, where he became Assistant Professor at Florence University in 1953.
In 1958 he moved to New York City, and has since taught there at the National Academy of Design and the New School of Social Research. He continues to teach workshops in the United States and Europe. Beginning in 1961, Lucchesi has had numerous exhibits at Forum Gallery in New York City.
He has also received honorary degrees from Cedar Crest College and the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts.
Lucchesi has published four books on sculpture:
