Bryan Patrick Murphy, American Chemist. Achievements include numerous patents in chemical syntheses of natural products and novel methods for coloration of hair and skin; elucidation of the fine points of mechanisms of the enzymes in bacteria responsible for resistance to many anti-bacterial agents (penicillins andcephalosporins); research on ways to mimic the natural pigmentation of hair and skin and ability to use them commercially.
