Hulsey later attended Bob Jones University from 1967 to 1972 where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Bachelor) degree in Education from Bob Jones University at Greenville, South Carolina.
Hulsey is a retired Kingsport Police Lieutenant with post graduate work at the University of Virginia via Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy
