In 1968, Uygur completed his education in the Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Atelier at the State Academy of Fine Arts.
He worked with Corneille at the Salzburg Summer Academy. Utilizing the figurative tendencies of Turkish painting, Uyghur created a fantastic and poetic world by using abstract and figurative elements. Forms obtained with color stains. In the life-death-immortality cycle, the artist worked with continuity, and in some of his paintings he combined colorful types and scenes from everyday life with his rich inner world. Paintings that incorporate Resmin's contextual design and contain unique figures with a stigmatized understanding have created a model that influences especially young generation in our contemporary art in terms of searching for unique infrastructures. Burhan Uygur photos are mainly in museums and important private collections in Turkey.
