Byron Allen Alexander, American Insect systematist. Achievements include phylogenetic analysis of honey bee species is consistent with von Frisch-Lindauer scenario for the evolution of the dance language but does not decisively rule out alternative scenarios;suggested that Philanthinae may be the major lineage of sphecid wasps that is more closely related to bees than to other sphecid wasps.
