Engaged in newspaper work, since 1890. At one time manager New Orleans bureau, New York Commercial. With Houston Post, 1897-1907.

Attached to 7th Army Corps as correspondent during Spanish War.

Became political editor The Washington Herald. Made six months’ trip to Australia and New Zealand, 1907, to study government ownership, concerning which has written extensively.
