Member, Calif Assembly, 1922-1924. Elected to State Senate, California, 1924-1928. reelected since 1928. Member of following comms.: Banking, Corporations, Education, Federal Relations, Finance, Government Efficiency, Judiciary.

Municipal Corporation, and Revisions of Criminal Law and Procedure (Chairman). Sponsored a program for complete revision of criminal law and criminal procedure of California, 1927. Introduced 65 measures, including 5 constitutional amendments.

Fifty of these measures were passed by both branches of Legislature and signed by Governor. Handled the program of the California Crime Commission consisting of 22 bills, introduced for further and complete revision of Calif, criminal law and procedure. Sponsored important legislation in respect to education.

Handled important and progressive measures relative to California Vehicle Act and to regulation of motor vehicle traffic upon public highways of California Member: Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Woodmen of the World: Sigma Chi. Phi Alpha Delta. Club: Kiwanis.
