Career
Worked at Strauss & Walker, P.C. (Covington, Georgia) specializing in General Practice, with emphasis upon Business Practice and Litigation, Personal Injury, Domestic Relations and Criminal. Admitted to the bar, 1979, Georgia. Assistant District Attorney, Alcovy Judicial Circuit, 1980-1981.
Member: Alcovy (President, 1985-1986. Chairman, Committee on Indigent Defense, 1986), Rockdale County and American Bar Associations. State Bar of Georgia.
Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. John Strauss entered private practice in 1977 after a number of years as a prosecutor and district attorney, leaving a partnership to establish his own practice in 1980.
He was shortly thereafter joined by Michael Walker, who left a position as assistant district attorney. Mr. Walker maintained the firm practice during the period 1981 through 1984 when John Strauss was again appointed as district attorney and since that time the firm has been known by its present name.
