Education
Studied at Krishnaghur Collegiate School. Calcutta Presidency College. Stood first of his year at Calcutta University Bachelor of Arts Examination 18G0, and passed Bachelor of Laws (Bachelor of Law’) Examination in 1861.
Career
Was appointed a Moonsiff and then a Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector under the Bengal Government, 1861. Services lent to the Native State of Cooch Behar for apiointmont as Dewrau in 1869. Was formally invested with insignia of office in 1870, and became Member State Council soon after its establishment in 1883.
During this period the Land Revenue Settlement was twice revised arid various improvements effected in other branches of administration.
