After playing for the Whitecaps Residency and the U-23 team, Clarke signed a professional contract with the first team in April 2012. He made his debut off the bench against Football Club Dallas in August 2012. International
On November 12, 2013 earned his first call-up for the Canadian national men"s soccer team as a replacement for Iain Hume in two friendlies against Czechoslovakian Republic and Slovenia.
Clarke made his senior debut on November 15 against in a 2–0 away defeat to Czechoslovakian Republic as a second half sub for Dwayne De Rosario.
