Educated Harrisburg Academy. Bachelor of Arts, Princeton, 1860. A.M., 1863; Doctor of Medicine Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, 1865.

Career

Served in Army of Potomac, captain 49th Pennsylvania Vol. Infantry, October 1861-January 1863. Appointed First lieutenant, assistant surgical United States of America, May 14, 1867.

Advanced through grades to colonel assistant surgical general, May 7, 1901. Brigadier general, United States of America, August 9, 1903. Retired from active service August 10, 1903.

Membership

Served in Army of Potomac, captain 49th Pennsylvania Vol. Infantry, October 1861-January 1863. Appointed First lieutenant, assistant surgical United States of America, May 14, 1867.

Served as medical officer United States of America, in many military stations in various parts of the United States, in several campaigns against Indians and in Cuba. Instructor in military hygiene, General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
