(One Fifth Avenue, the Art Deco beauty towering over one o...)
One Fifth Avenue, the Art Deco beauty towering over one of Manhattan's oldest and most historically hip neighborhoods, is a one-of-a-kind address, the sort of building you have to earn your way into--one way or another. For the women in Candace Bushnell's new novel, One Fifth Avenue, this edifice is essential to the lives they've carefully established--or hope to establish. One Fifth Avenue is a modern-day story of old and new money, that same combustible mix that Edith Wharton mastered in her novels about New York's Gilded Age and F. Scott Fitzgerald illuminated in his Jazz Age tales.

(In her first book since the cultural phenomenon Sex and t...)
In her first book since the cultural phenomenon Sex and the City, Candace Bushnell triumphantly returned with the national best-seller Four Blondes, which The New York Times says "chronicles the glittering lives of semicelebrities, social aspirants, and moneyed folk ... [with] withering precision." Now her collection of novellas is available in paperback -- just in time to pack in your handbag for that summer weekend getaway to the Hamptons or that romantic rendezvous on Martha's Vineyard. Four Blondes tells the stories of four women facing up to the limitations of their rapidly approaching middle age in an era that worships youth. From the former "It-girl" heroine of "Nice N'Easy," who each summer looks for a rich man who'll provide her with a house in the Hamptons, to the writer-narrator of "Single Process," who goes to London on a hunt for love and a good magazine story, Bushnell brings to life contemporary women in search of something more -- when the world is pushing for them to settle for less. Sexy, funny, and wonderfully lush with gossip and scandal, Four Blondes will keep you turning pages long into the night. (To everyone who's anyone in New York City Victory Ford, W...)
To everyone who's anyone in New York City Victory Ford, Wendy Healy and Nico O'Neilly are the beautiful face of success in the city. Victory is the hottest new designer on the block, Wendy is President of Parador Pictures with a sure-fire hit in production and Nico is the editor of BONFIRE magazine. The trouble is, from where Victory, Nico and Wendy are standing things don't look quite that way. Nico is fitting in guilty extra-marital sex with an underwear model. Victory's last collection bombed and Wendy's twelve-year marriage to her metrosexual househusband is in freefall. Candace Bushnell's new heroines are irresistible, and as she follows them through the minefield of work, love and life at the top she gives us a hugely entertaining lesson on how to stay ahead in the toughest town on the planet.

Candace Bushnell was born on December 1, 1958 in Glastonbury, Connecticut, United States. She is the daughter of Calvin and Camille Bushnell.
Bushnell attended Rice University and New York University.
Bushnell began her professional career at 19 when she wrote a children’s book for Simon & Schuster. Throughout her twenties, Bushnell developed her trademark style as a freelancer, writing darkly humorous pieces about women, relationships and dating for Mademoiselle, Self Magazine, and Esquire. In 1990, she wrote a column that would become a precursor for Sex and the City, called The Human Cartoon, a fictional serial published in Hamptons Magazine.
She began writing for the New York Observer in 1993; in November of 1994, she created the column Sex and the City, which ran in the New York Observer for two years. The column was bought as a book in 1995, and sold to HBO as a series in 1996. Bushnell hosted a radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio, called Sex, Success, and Sensibility, which aired from October 2006 to October 2008. She wrote and created a web series, The Broadroom, starring Jennie Garth, which launched in September 2009. The same year, she also she wrote articles for Meredith's More magazine.
Bushnell was contracted by HarperCollins in 2008 to write a series of two books for young adults, about the high school years of Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw. The first of these, The Carrie Diaries, was published in April 2010. The other, Summer and the City, was published in April 2011.
Currently, Bushnell divides her time between Roxbury, Connecticut and New York City, working as a producer, journalist and freelance writer.
