President of New South Wales Alliance since 1892. Pioneer of Old Age Pension movement in the State, 1895. And founder of Old Age Pension League, 1896.
Later Pioneer of movement for Invalidity Pensions. First President of British Empire League in Australia, 1902. President again in 1909.
Initiator of Empire Day movement for all citizens in Australian Commonwealth and constant promoter of it there and elsewhere. President of Evangelical Council of New South Wales of Members of Anglican and other churches, 1906. Rector, St. Paul’s, Sydney since 1884; Canon, 1900.
